Millionaires Are Resilient
To be resilient is to be able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult situations. Millionaires often exercise their resilient muscle. It is honed over time. They realize that what matters is how they respond to difficult situations, the price they are willing to pay, and the steps they are willing to take in order to be successful.
It is the tiny, incremental, painstaking steps that you take that add up to huge strides. As long as you are moving, you are one step closer to your goals. One day you will get to where you wanted to go and be amazed at how you got there.
The secret to being resilient is knowing that you don’t have to do everything perfectly, or even correctly, the first time.
Sometimes your first try is horribly embarrassing or something you try to block out of our memory. It happens. You have to be willing to do something poorly until you are able to do it well. There is always risk before the reward.
The difference between those who are successful millionaires and those who are not is the willingness to do what others won’t. Not all tasks are fun. Not every step of the way is an exhilarating ride. Sometimes you just have to put one foot in front of the other. Even if you fall down ninety-nine times, what matters is that you get up the hundredth time.
Millionaires understand that to be resilient requires being flexible and open to feedback.
When you try something that doesn’t work, the feedback is crucial to be able to do things differently the next time. If you are unwilling to receive that feedback, you are not able to improve. You risk repeating the same mistakes over and over again.
Feedback pushes you to be more specific and to hone in on what needs to be done. You are then able to determine what doesn’t work and what does. It sounds counterintuitive but, you need to increase your failure rate in order to increase your success rate.
Then there is fear. It is a natural occurrence, but it has no place in your success. All you need to do is take the first step. It doesn’t even matter what you do or where you go first since you will get feedback on whatever you do.
This is why feedback is a crucial part of the process. Just take the first step. You will begin to gain confidence and you will be willing to give all you have to accomplish what you desire most. The more you trust in the process, the closer you will be to achieving your goals. You will begin to see the end before you see the beginning and all the steps in between.
Resilient millionaires understand they have to be cautious of negative self-talk.
When you begin to think negatively, try to catch yourself. Write down your thoughts or say them out loud and be done with them. There is no victim consciousness in a millionaire.
Take ownership of your actions as well as your thoughts as thoughts become actions. Believe in yourself and trust your heart.
When you are passionate about something, you are willing to do anything to make it happen. You have to be willing to step out of your comfort zone and do what others are not willing to do.
Millionaires do not conform. If you are constantly checking with others, you are limiting yourself and prolonging the process unnecessarily.
You have to move forward without knowing that what you are doing will work. You also have to move forward without the acceptance or encouragement of others. Persistence and being able to bounce back is where your power lies. This is more important than your knowledge or experience or the opinions of others.
Persistence is what will take you to where you want to go. When you continue to move forward without reservation, the opportunities are truly endless. When you are unwilling to quit, your only option is to succeed. There is no other possibility.
If you keep getting up every time you fall, you will continue to move closer and closer towards your goals. Soon enough you will have to succeed. It has to happen. Think of it as a law. Your harvest is assured.
