Gut Health
Gut health has taken the limelight recently and rightly so. But long before gut health was vogue, I was all over any information or research I could get my hands on. In my early thirties, I was reading the legendary text Tissue Cleansing Through Bowel Management by Bernard Jensen.
I mean, who reads that in their thirties?
I really do live and breathe this stuff. It is fascinating to me and I know what this knowledge can do for people. I’ve seen people achieve amazing results when they improve their gut health. Gut health is one of the most important aspects of your overall health as so many ailments and issues stem from an unhealthy microbiome. Your gut is your first line of immune defense.
Researchers have found that 70 percent of our body’s immune cells live in the digestive tract.
Our Western culture tends to focus on treating our bodies recklessly and then fixing them once illness occurs. Gut health, however, focuses on prevention and overall health. It focuses on the effects as well as the cause. It is critically important to have a balance of healthy bacteria to avert health challenges from even arising.
This is why a probiotic is so crucial to your daily nutrition.
But what are probiotics and why do we need them? The word “probiotic” comes from the Latin word “pro,” which means “for,” and the Greek word “biotic,” which means “life.”
Probiotic means “for life!”
Probiotics are microorganisms that are similar to the organisms that reside naturally in the intestinal tract.
