Five Principles for Creating Affirmations that Work
Affirmations are a powerful source for getting what you want in life. I began creating affirmations over 20 years ago and the results I have seen in every area of my life have been profound. Today we are going to look at the five key principles that will help you create your own success with affirmations.
Creating Affirmations Principles:
1. Create Affirmations in the Positive
View your choice of words as the master key to creating positive change. Avoid words that describe something you don’t want more of. For example, don’t write “I am so happy and grateful that I am overcoming limitations and obstacles.” Do write what you do want: “I am so happy and grateful that I am consistently growing and expanding.”
2. Create Affirmations in the Present Tense
Visualize yourself already in full possession of everything you’re affirming. Then write the affirmation in the present tense. This influences your subconscious mind to accept that you’ve already achieved your goal, leaving no room there to believe otherwise and tending to accelerate your progress. Own it now!
3. Connect Your Affirmations to Your Heart
Your heart is home to your emotions. Add genuine emotion to your affirmations. You must feel the words deeply and infuse them with conviction and belief. So, choose those really juicy words that automatically make your emotions go Wow!
4. Repeat Your Affirmations Silently and Aloud
Repeat every word as often as you possibly can, but at least once in the morning and once in the evening. Repetition is key and saying them out loud will help to bring out your emotion. It will also help you to memorize your affirmations allowing you to say them more easily.
5. Make All of the Principles a Permanent Habit
Practice all of these principles daily. Consistency is the key.
If you make affirmations a part of your daily routine you will find that you are achieving your goals rapidly and that your life is expanding positively on all levels. I encourage you, when creating affirmations, write them out and put them on your mirrors, throughout your home where you can see them. Gradually your focus will be aligned with your fondest dreams.
